I hope to patronize Popeye's for dinner on Monday night after my two job interviews.
Why Popeye's? Because KFC is for white trash and when nigga don't got da bling fo da real thang.
such a tool
Back when I worked at Usury, they wanted people to work on MLK Day but they got paid the same pay instead of double time or time and a half. They ignored certain bank holidays. When speaking with customers who were largely unaware of this also-ran federal holiday I always gently reminded them "It's the day when we celebrate the life and works of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr."
I always laughed in my head especially when I said it with such a straight face coming across as genuine. Extra hilarity if I was speaking with an obvious black person. Triple the comedy if I had the forethought to add that questioning uptick to them implying "What? You don't know anything about your hero or his holiday?"
i have a dream
On Sunday I began rereading Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy. In the first seventy pages I stumbled upon a conversation between John Boone and Maya Toitovna. Basic jist is that being unable to remember dreams means a lot of repression. Lately I haven't been remembering my dreams. Sometimes I wake up feeling addled and honestly can't be arsed to write them down.
Sunday morning I dreamt the top of my head was gone. When I was going into a pool I had to keep my head above water lest my brain become contaminated.
