brief commentary
Zelda Fitzgerald née Sayre sums up the years surrounding the tumultuous turn of the millennium.
Why should all life be work, when we all can borrow. Let's think only of today, and not worry about tomorrow.

Sadly I don't believe there was any intention of irony and despite the current economic crisis most people, except you gentle reader, will think that's a perfectly valid sentiment.

great success

For months these iconic images of the Republic of the United States of America's first Hawaiian President which anyone could purchase at Hot Topic for $5.95 remained inviolate and a message to fellow citizens that the Republic of the United States needs regime change.
Last November the people voiced their dissent and opinion by choosing Barack Obama to ascend to office. People speculate if he will be another FDR or another James Knox Polk while others speculate the man will be no better than Jimmy Carter or Иосиф Сталин. Countless neocons and social conservatives find themselves scrambling to the nearest pharmacy to purchase a family-size bottle of Excedrin to soothe their collective butthurt.

I am writing for the sake of posterity and perhaps sometime in the far future, barring the inevitable collapse of our technological civilization, an internet archaeologist will fire up his personal communicator's cache of Google and Google's caches and other caches within caches hoping to catch the zeitgeist of the trials and chaos associated with early aughts of the third millennium.
That's right boys and girls we're in the third millennium.
So to you, gentle futureperson, I say that I am skeptical of President Obama's policies and politics but I'm not about to throw the proverbial baby out with the proverbial bathwater in a proverbial fashion. To cite a formerly popular television program "I want to believe." My friend Jaybird said last night, "The only difference between George W. Bush and Barack Obama is skin color!" As far as I have seen it appears that our Republic is holding its collective breath regardless of their political parties hoping for the best.

Unless they're cunts like Sean Hannity, the Westboro Baptist Church and Ann "futanari" Coulter.

"So spivak, why did you waste 374 words to muse upon the contemporary politics of the Republic of the United States of America?" Good question. My pessimistic side says the 'alteration' of those Obama murals serves to underscore the uncertainty and doubt regarding the incoming administration.
On the bright side this was probably done for laughs and is the simplest possible answer and understanding the concept of "spivak's razor" this means it must be true.

i gotcher hope right here in my pants
A new decade is fast approaching our nation and so does the retirement age of the legendary Baby Boomer generation. Surely when this generation lay down their tools and fold their hands one final time as they turn to enjoy one final autumn many more jobs will be made available to the increasing ranks of unemployed.

Gas prices are reasonable despite various projections on actual supply.

Shit's much more expensive overseas and despite the weak dollar the loss of the tourist trade is tacit retaliation for the opinions of USA citizens at home and abroad.
