Just a regular dungeon level. Grunt was able to outfit himself with elven boots and splint mail then ditching his blessed orcish chainmail with the shopkeeper.
monday
It appears that I'm working full eight hour days once again. Hopefully this will keep up rather than running out of steam.

Most people's politics at Usury, Inc. are very conservative and they make no bones about it. The general manager, when telling everyone about how things might be looking up and why even more people were fired last Friday, said she was going to wear red every day until the election in the vain hope that McCain is appointed to office.

I'm wearing blue on 11/4/08. Wednesday is going to be a very, very interesting day.

Also I learned that it's illegal to steal someone's campaign signs from their front lawn and the city of Colorado Springs imposes a $5000 fine.

marginally more interesting
During lunch I sat in my car since it was cold, rainy(!) and I was decidedly unprepared for the weather. Fortunately I had something from Escape Pod and a binaural mp3. Supposedly binaural sounds is supposed to alter one's mood by stimulating various brain wavelengths.

First time that I listened to it was on Saturday night. Guess I wasn't completely concentrating but I listened to it in its entirety and found it to be annoying towards the end where it started producing a pure tone. Monday afternoon I figured I'd give it a shot.

I saw formations of purple clouds which appeared to be a hybrid of cumulonimbus and lenticular clouds in addition to shifting dark colors which weren't the usual stuff you see when one's eyes are closed. You know, red filtered light, silhouettes of veins or if your face is pressed against your arm then uncounted stars. Don't know what to make of it, wonder if it might simply be self-induced out of anticipation of altered thought since I'm thinking binaural sound is just an interesting, audible snakeoil.

Fortunately I got this file for free.

marginally less interesting but not emo
The screenshots I've been taking for my NetHack game have a moiré effect. Compare to last year's game screenshots which do not have that funky eyebending effect.

Makes me wonder what I'm doing different that I didn't do back in 2007.
