heptapod.org isn't the only website that disdains blog scripts and other newfangled nonsense. The vaunted Old Gray Lady hand codes everything on their site.
It’s our preference to use a text editor, like HomeSite, TextPad or TextMate, to "hand code" everything, rather than to use a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) HTML and CSS authoring program, like Dreamweaver. We just find it yields better and faster results.

Unfortunately people who use old browsers will not see that heptapod.org displays correctly on standards-compliant browsers. It takes a lot of energy keep my hackles down when someone using an outdated web interface visiting heptapod.org and it's not displayed correctly on the screen.

As always with my anxiety I immediately jump into the head of the person at the keyboard. I imagine them thinking "Idiot can't even write HTML" because the <div> cells are completely fucked up. It becomes personal because I've invested so much effort in this vanity project.

At least I'm not a dickhead like Jeff Zeldman who put a bit of javascript into his pages preventing people with older browsers from viewing his pages.

famine
Any of you know about colony collapse disorder? Entire hives just dying out for no known reason. No bees, no pollenation, no pollenation means no food.

The first culprit is genetically modified crops where the pollen of GM crop is claimed to be lacking in nutrients causing entire hives to starve to death.

Funny thing is that GM crops have been found to produce less food than unmodified crops.

Food is being hoarded by distributors, the price of staples has tripled and life sucks for everyone.
