First Day of Spring
I've been keeping busy and trying to spend less time on the internet. I've inflated the tires of my bicycle in preparation for a ride in the near future. The upstairs alcove has been cleaned out so I can access and store my bicycle with relative ease.

Wednesday night I mended the left strap on my backpack. Over the past two years it had become frayed and started tearing away from the bag. It wasn't so hard but I need to have confidence in myself that the job I did was good enough to spare me from having to do any more sewing in the near future.

Plus I took a midweek shower for no reason whatsoever and I'll have to clean my teeth with the waterpik because after going out to dinner on Tuesday I forgot to brush.

Over by Barnes and Powers there's a Chinese buffet called Ultimate Buffet. It's really nice, everything's new but the food selection is a bit limited and it seems half the food is western cuisine and only two tables are devoted to Asian food. For a change of pace I had dinner there on Tuesday night. I've come to the conclusion that this is a place I'd take acquaintances or almost-strangers if I was ever social and had a social circle.

Asian Empire Buffet on Academy is my favorite because of the selection, the joint is pretty big and the staff are friendly. Of course the folks at Asian Empire Buffet are friendly enough but the staff is mostly made up of westerners which kinda detracts from the scene.

Finally there's Super China Buffet a bit further south on Academy on the east side of this fabled traffic artery of Colorado Springs. The food's alright, the place is kinda dinky but I've recently decided not to go there except under duress or I have to go there. The delightful elmgrows related an anecdote during a recent game night about how the staff were singing the egregiously copyrighted "Happy Birthday to You" to a customer. Instead of using the person's name they were using "gweilo".

The long and short of it is that "gweilo" is pretty much their 'nigger' word for non-Chinese. If they're going to sneak that in on the sly to unsuspecting southwestern citizens of the Republic of the United States of America, whose most exotic vacation has been to Mexico and TGIFriday's is their favorite restaurant, who knows what the fuck they're doing with the food.

bah
I encountered a science fiction fan who was particularly humorless in light of the passing of Arthur C. Clarke. Why does this trouble me? The guy got his panties in a bunch saying "Too soon" and denigrating me not for a joke about nubile Sri Lankan shota breathing a collective sigh of relief.

No! Not even close!

I made an allusion to the fabled Asimov-Clarke Treat of Park Avenue that Asimov fans would think differently of the glowing acclaim lauded upon Mr. Clarke's shoulders at the time of his death. Real fucking softball humor. Much to my shock and horror there are still thin-skinned and overly-sensitive people who use the internet and probably run to mommy because someone on IRC called them a cocksucking faggot just like whomever they idolize.

Anyway this is hard to read, poorly composed but I needed to vent it and heptapod.org serves that purpose.
