According to the hygienist my mouth is making a great recovery. My visit was just an examination to check the depth of my gumline followed by a cleaning which only took an hour.
My next stop was Pikes Peak Community College. Signing up was easy, I got info for financial aid and took my placement test. The good news is that I passed the English section with flying colors. Bad news is that I sucked balls when it came to elementary algebra. Elementary algebra. Jesus fuck, what the hell? It's accurate because most times I was guessing at the answer after trying to puzzle out the problems in my head and on the complimentary scratch paper.
The advisor told me that I should just pursue a generic science degree and work towards astronomy. He told me if I pursued physics then I'd be getting involved with engineering and right now that seems pretty daunting to me. I figure if I keep it generic then I'll have more flexibility rather than pursuing one course of study then turning a 180° and taking a new major.
Right now I want to digest it all then deal with financial aid this weekend and complete the whole process before May.
I rounded out Thursday with a cursory and unprofessional examination of my bicycle. It's in good repair and I took it for a spin down to the Penrose Branch of the Pikes Peak Library District where I borrowed a book and put another on hold.
