Actually, one can be chaste if one’s sexual relations are considered appropriate within the context of one’s religion. For eg, a married Catholic couple who have only procreative, unitive, piv sex would, in fact, be performing a chaste action. Assuming, y’know, their thoughts were pure and all that stuff. From m-w: CHASTE primarily implies a refraining from acts or even thoughts or desires that are not virginal or not sanctioned by marriage vows.
