leve one of the gnomish mines
Grunt laid waste to gnomes, dwarves and kobolds in the mines. Taking especial glee as he consumed the corpses of his blood enemy, dwarves. None of them had any good loot but there are still plenty of levels in the Gnomish Mines and a whole town with shops which will outfit Grunt.

Part of the impetus for Grunt to get some good stuff took place two steps into the mines. He stepped on a rust trap, got splashed by a gush of water and his armor rusted which reduced its effectiveness. This is insult to injury since he's wearing orcish chainmail. Of note, I ran across the announcement of the death of an acquaintance from LambdaMOO as I started up today's game. It made me do a double take.

More to come.

behind the scenes
I took pictures of the post-it notes that held my notes for last night's dream. Thought you, gentle reader, would be interested to see how I prepare for updating heptapod.org when I'm actually inclined to perpetuate this waste of precious bandwidth.

On Tuesday I hobbled over to Asian Empire for dinner. I was surprised that upon returning home I wasn't overcome with violent liquid squirtshits. Right now I believe this has something to do with the fact that I didn't have any of their sashimi. The piece I did pick up had a little, odd gray bit on the fish.

Some guy enquired in regards to my reading material. Right now I'm reading Farthing by Jo Walton. I wrote down the title and author because he stated that he decided that he needs to read more. More people need to read. More people need to rely less upon broadcast news and read the news while relying upon their own brains to form opinions rather than being swayed theater.

Wednesday was particularly sane for me. I was pleased with myself. Spot woke me because she was completely out of kibble. Lately she's been spoiled with lots of kibble being readily available in her bowl and it's really starting to show. Spot is extremely important to me as a companion and I want her to be around for quite a long time so I can fulfill my prommise of having an actual house where she can lounge in the window watching birds in a tree or stupid houseapes wandering around on the sidewalk.

Ended up making thirteen meatballs and spaghetti sauce. Originally I was going to use some of the sauce from last time as a seed for this batch but I didn't refrigerate it nor was it properly sealed so it unsurprisingly has a delightful coating of gray fuzz.

My only crazy moments were berating myself over the fact that I didn't have a proper house and couldn't realistically adopt that chocolate pit bull bitch from April. Of course I need to take Spot into account and the fact that pit bulls can be an unknown quantity around other animals no matter how sweet they appear in regards to their disposition.

black leg The kitty below Spot's close-up portrait is Black Leg. She likes to get into growling fights with Tuxedo Cat and swat my bedroom window when Spot's looking out at the world or Olympic Guy's white pick up truck. Black Leg lives somewhere in the neighborhood but she seems to visit everyone.
