BLOGS WITHIN BLOGS WITHIN BLOGS
heptapod.org is reporting that BoingBoing is reporting that Slashdot is reporting that Techdirt is reporting that ZDNet is reporting that the esteemed Omaha World-Herald is reporting that the University of Nebraska is suing the RIAA for wasting its time for harassment over the RIAA's demands to release the names and IP addresses of students who have downloaded music over the university's network.

One thing to keep in mind is reading the actual article is actually more informative than the lefty blurbs and huzzahs of these blogs celebrating a blow against the RIAA.

Also I'm taken aback at the fact that there are four layers of blogs before one can actually find the original article. People on the internet are lazy as a rule but this kind of egregious laziness is beyond the pale.

Yes, I understand that this is hardly new but I don't have much in the way of material for this edition of heptapod.org.

game
Okay I've done away with the rule that 21 is an automatic win. During my first break I dropped that rule and decided that if someone happens to roll doubles then the roll counts as the single number. i.e. get 8 and 8, it's 8 not 16.

It's good for the attacker because there's a better chance of getting a lower number than the defender. It's good for the defender because then there's a chance they'll roll 1 and 1 making them undefeatable. In such a circumstance where the attacker and the defender roll two ones then the win goes to the defender.

Since I'm an idiot and not a statistician, I'm certain this mechanic would be considered unbalanced and not make for a fun game.

anyway
My greatest fear in developing my gaming system is that I'm probably subject to cryptomnesia. Cryptomnesia, hidden memory, means "the recall of memories not recognized as such but thought to be original creations".
