The Republic of the United States of America is the freest country in the world until someone wants to leave it. Even after a citizen leaves and renounces citizenship the IRS continues to demand back taxes.

Crime does not pay. Drug dealers are so ruthless and violent because their profit margins are thinner than the proverbial red cunt hair. I recently read that legitimate pharmacies like Walgreens and Walmart, of all places, marks up the price of generic drugs by an insane amount.

Twenty bucks for an ounce of pot suddenly doesn't seem that bad.

Now let's take my current venue of earning personal income. Short term loans. Several times I've mentioned here at heptapod.org that these businesses charge outrageous annual percentage rates. Of course outside of polite company this is known as "usury". Borrow cash from some 'associates' and they'll probably give you one or two points which is extremely reasonable. These gentlemen make their money by lending large sums of money which means the interest is significant. Still making almost $2000 in less than six months for lending $500 is exceedingly lucrative. The only upside of these short term loan outlets is the fact that they won't kill you.

Seriously the government will let anyone get their way as long as the government gets their cut.
