The remainder of Saturday was relatively run of the mill. Around three I went downtown, made some photocopies in preparation for the most recent installment of Asbury Park by Night.
I like to be prompt. Fortunately the only emotion I felt was anxiety rather than annoyance or anything stronger which is a good thing. A mature thing. maribou mentioned how she could tell how my mom was trying to be on her best behavior even though there was an edge down there. I told maribou how I was egging my mother on after she admonished me for simply playing around with raddidge and maribou. Plus it made me reflect upon those who have influenced my life and continue to, consciously or unconsciously, influence my life.
Soon we headed to the Ancient Mariner. It's a bar in Manitou Springs which was one of the hang outs frequented when elmgrows ran his Colorado Springs campaign last year. Dinner ate up most of the night but everyone seemed happy which pleased me. Later Jaybird got treats for all over at Patsy's near the arcade. Finally we all took turns at the punching bag contest.
The game reconvened at 10 p.m. over at the Birdhouse. Everyone was tired from alcohol, martial arts and having worked a job that day. Yours truly is naturally lazy. I was a prick, I wore my conductor's cap and railroaded the story to build up to a cliffhanger of what may have been the final chapter in Asbury Park by Night. At the moment it's Schroedinger's Game. No one will know if the players are still alive until the next session or someone opens the box.
Everyone slouched towards home. Jaybird and I spoke briefly on the porch, duelling with our theories on what may happen on 7/14/07. Finally I drove to 7-11, got a microwaved rib sandwich, came home, had some quality time with Spot, wrote my contribution to Colorado Springs Gaming over at LiveJournal.
In fact they'll probably have a smile on their face as they go out the door wondering about the next adventure rather than possibly dreading it because the game might run late again because spivak loev gaming and makes it his life while everyone else has wives, children and day jobs which they enjoy.
