Christmas Eve Eve
NetHack has a special kind of trap which is called a rust trap. Nice thing about rust traps is that if a player wields a scroll and then continually sits on a rust trap, a gush of water will fade the scroll making it available to become a different scroll. This is very nice when it comes to scrolls of amnesia, destroy armor, fire and punishment since they have bad effects when read by the player. Rust traps will say it hits a part of your body and if the appropriate worn item is rustable, it'll rust. Fairly harmless.

Recently I patched NetHack with the enhanced water patch and I was surprised at the challenge it brought to the game in regards to rust traps. Usually worn or wielded items were affected by rust traps. Now when a rust trap is triggered the player will get the message about where the gush of water hit but there's a chance that random bits of inventory are affected by water. Scrolls and spellbooks are blanked, potions are diluted and random rustables become rusty like skeleton keys (which really should be made of bone, not metal, for the sake of puns).

This makes oilskin sacks a necessity since oilskin protects items from water and regular sacks and bags of holding will soak these items.

This is interesting and annoying for me.

anxiety
I need to relax a bit more rather than get caught up in crazy shit. For example I am stressing over my current good mood. Yes, how fucked up is that? Anyway I'm stressed because I'm afraid this mood is temporary and once the holidays have passed I'll begin the decline towards Black March.

Moreso I'm running through the same crazy thinking which generates more anxiety. Oh let's say, for example, that people will no longer be happy and nice and I'll return to being the pathetic misanthrope that people only tolerate out of habit.

Meh.
