Regarding a minor, I don't know if astronomy would be my minor or simply my focus in physics. Another potential minor would be computer programming but my experiences with programming languages have not gone well. Back in the stone age I took a programming classes back at high school and failing miserably when it came to for/next in BASIC. I've attempted to learn Perl and Python but either programming isn't my cup of tea or I am the world's worst autodidact.
Why computer programming? One of the things I recently learned was that physics usually requires a degree of computer programming knowledge because it's needed to crunch numbers. Physics and astronomy aren't about running wacky experiments or staying up all hours of the night staring at the sky. The work is done on paper in an office rather than out in the field.
Or I could minor in English and polish up my skills.
Halfway down the hall I was joined by Ben and Kate. They were walking beside me, Ben on the left and Kate on the right. I could tell they wanted to run ahead and investigate whatever was running the ship but surprisingly they exercised restraint and stayed beside me. After a few twisty turns we found a half-open airlock door.
Sitting in the middle of a large, black room behind a circular desk was Darth Vader. The dogs's first instinct was to run ahead and play with him but I grabbed their collars whispering, hopefully, calming words in their floppy ears. Neither of them made a sound but they struggled against me as I dragged them back the way we came. Ben struggled loose and ran back to the door. When he opened his mouth a purple laser shot out at Vader winging his head.
The Sith Lord wasn't wearing his helmet. Unlike the provided image the ventilator was screwed directly into his skull rather than being the weird device with two dicks aimed at his nostrils. Vader got up and sounded the alarm while charging after Ben. Now the idea got through his thick doggy head that being quiet and not causing trouble was a Good Idea (tm).
The three of us discovered there was a side room hidden behind the curtains and we scampered in there pulling the curtains around us. Katie was restless and Ben was deathly quiet and trembling as we heard Darth Vader stalking past our hiding spot. When Vader came in, I leapt at him kicking the ventilator loose from his head revealing a dark ragged hole without a jaw. The grate swung crazily on a loose screw while he gagged and gasped for air.
We made a run for the exit and found that our escape ship was a purple Mountain Metropolitan Transit bus laying on its side against the ship. An earthlike planet that wasn't Earth rolled below us.
