I am fortunate that I only have to pony up ten dreams for the month of December in order to make my goal of 1000 dreams before 2008.

I would like to see if I can do this myself. Most likely I'll archive contributions and repost them post-1000 in one huge heptapod.org article unless I'm starting to fall behind schedule.

damn it
One thing I forgot to mention about the scaling slash cleaning process from last Tuesday is the fact that I woke up a few times Tuesday night slash Wednesday morning because my teeth felt like they were being prodded, poked and scraped by a phantom hygienist.

The pain was not that bad, especially with the vicodin. In fact a day later my gums weren't tender and the only pain I had was from a tender incisor and something at the back of my mouth. It's on the upper left aaaaaaall the way in the back.

double damn on you
I don't have a new title for the recurring, unread dream feature. See, I want to retire "In Yer Dreams" and use something else with the advent of four figured numbers. Fortunately five figured numbers are aeons away so I don't have to think about yet another new title for a long time.

It would be nice to have 10,000 dreams before I die of old age.

If I die of old age.

You get the idea.

diametrically opposite
I don't care if the header makes no sense.

I spent Thursday night reading The Zombie Hunters web comic and The Buttercup Festival.

Sometime this weekend I need to acquire Silver Surfer: Requiem and Silver Surfer: In Thy Name.

in case you didn't click
The Zombie Hunters is a much better zombie comic than Deadworld. Deadworld was decent but there were only three kinds of zombies, four armed constructs from another dimension, King Zombies and his kind and the regular, shambling dead. The Zombie Hunters features various kinds of zombies, it starts out in media res which appeals to me and finally it has a decidedly different flavor than Deadworld.

Deadworld, as far as I know or care, is the first zombie comic. What worked against it was the fact that it was released on an intermittent basis. The zombies were cool but mostly they were a plot device or an obstacle rather than a serious threat. The Zombie Hunters have many different zombies, the cast is made up of mostly chicks because the writer/artist/creator is a chick and there's plenty of violence too which is important for a zombie comic.

The Buttercup Festival is a surreal comic that features beautiful watercolors. The main character is a goth who dresses like Thanatos, complete with scythe, and it reads like a Garfield randomizer.

They're both comics that I would've been proud to create myself back when I was young, impressionable with dreams that were only slightly bruised by the intense academic circle jerk of a collegiate Fine Arts curriculum where people attend school to practice what they already know rather than become better at it.

bah modern life
One thing that I encounter at work are privacy services provided by telephone companies. I'm sure if people are being harassed by telemarketers and their ilk then certainly this is a useful service.

Actually I like the whole anonymity of telephone calls. Freaks me the fuck out when I make one or two monthly telephone calls and the person picking up knows it's me. So much for fucking surprise. Plus *67 to block my number is costly and, in my experience, doesn't work all the time.

Of course if there are harassing calls then use the call-trace thingy. Sure you won't get the information for some reason, lol vigilantism, but if they keep on keeping on then allegedly their ass will be handed to them.

cellphones
Nice thing about not owning or using a cellphone is the fact that every day becomes an adventure. Hot shit, I have to call the shrink's office or the dentist's office to reschedule an appointment! Where's the god damned payphone? With the rise of wireless telephones, payphones have become a thing of the past. Yet I pretty much know where I can find one in a pinch.

Of course I am intelligent enough to avoid getting into a situation where I would need to make a telephone call.

Finally not owning a cellphone means more quiet time for me. Of course, lol spivak dying alone. At least there'll be peace and quiet for me. I don't care if you can take out the battery, shut the damned phone off or whatever. If I'm not near a phone I have fewer distractions and I'm a happier person.
