One of the quirks of this basement apartment is the fact that around the equinoxes the sun directly shines through the upstairs window, my door's window and down into my basement. Sometimes I wonder if I left the front door wide open the other night. This gives me pause and makes me smile that there are good things here despite questionable plumbing.
On Tuesday morning there wasn't any sunshine. Fortunately the reason was simple, it was cloudy.
Autumn has finally arrived in Colorado Springs. The handful of deciduous trees are shedding their yellow leaves. Some of them bear orange and a rare few have red laeves which remind me of home. When the sun would break through the clouds the leaves would catch the light becoming luminous, releasing all the sunshine of spring and summer one last time before winter.
Tuesday afternoon was cloudy. The wind was making the dry leaves skitter along the driveway outside my window. It was drizzling when I drove out to pay my rent. Pikes Peak was hidden by heavy clouds, they seemed to gather around it while Cheyenne mountain and the other foothills to the north were merely misty. One of the quirks of weather along the front range is how the sun always needs to butt in. There are so many bright spots which last only for one perfect moment which fade into the shadows.
- Pride
- My job is a game. I need to ensure that I'm at the top.
- Greed
- Money at any expense. Work is the only source and I milk it like a farmer with cold hands.
- Lust
- Need I say any more? Also death boners.
- Pride
- I envy Brian because he still has New Jersey and I can never go back.
- Gluttony
- Flintstones jingle: o/~ Three hundred and twenty pounds... and growing! o/~
- Sloth
- I come home and get on the internet and do absolutely nothing other than reload 4chan and listen to my stupid mp3s.
- Wrath
- So it turns out that I'm less wrathful but it's pathetic since I have more bark than bite nowadays.
