the countdown to hallowe'en continues
For a brief period in 1971, a New Jersey based company sold novelty "x-ray" glasses through the mail via advertisements in the Marvel line of comic books. People who viewed their televisions while wearing these glasses reported seeing images that were "hellish" or "like hell". It should be noted that this phenomena occured whether the televisions in question were turned on or not. The company quickly went out of business and investigations reveal that the company's address leads to a graveyard founded many decades before 1971.
sunday
Sunday was spent doing a few chores around the house like much needed laundry. During the quieter moments I played Pokemon Fire Red. Later on Sunday night I decided that I was going to post on most people's livejournals as if they had passed away. My reasoning being that I always see people posting the most heartfelt notions and usually they're the most awkward things to express to a living person but the fact there won't be any retribution or hard feelings makes it so much easier for both parties. I'm always left thinking "Maybe that person would still be around if you had said something wonderful and beautiful to them before they made that choice." Most of the people who get mentioned on the dead LiveJournal community are suicides.
Anyway the damage has been done. Hopefully there won't be any fallout. I'll probably do it again sometime but not in the foreseeable future. Heck if the planet is still in one piece and some remnants of humanity still persist after the tribulations of 2012 I might do it again.
It's always good to look forward to something, eh?
In other news, I now have Paint Shop Pro 8.0 which is much better than Pixia or any of the other free image editors available on the internet which happened to be light years better than that piece of shit called the GIMP.
Finally I made a terrible discovery. I can't breed pokemon in Fire Red until I beat the Elite Four.
Fuck. At least I have everything set for making a hunting parasect. Sweet scent, false swipe, thief and spore.
In Yer Dreams
The long and the short of my dream is the fact that a bunch of Mongolians had bought my employer's company. It was exhilerating and frightening because I didn't know if I was going to be kept on and it was exhilarating because there was so much potential for new opportunities, like advancement, or making more money.
Throughout the dream there was this one Mongolian who kept stepping in front of me and smiling like he was laughing. This was more bothersome than worrisome because I always knew that I'd walk around him and continue about my oneiric duties.
I was left with a feeling of accomplishment. Quite unique.
