I am unable to find any six packs of seltzer in Colorado Springs. Perhaps some will magically appear by Thursday. Man, I hate it when I'm at work and all I have is a two liter of seltzer rather than a few cans.
In Yer Dreams
So I'm living in this motel somewhere in New Jersey. It's early in the morning and I'm heading out to get breakfast from a little store that used to exist in my hometown but closed down many years ago. It's right next to Colonial's which is now Dave's. The guys behind the counter are concerned because the price of Coca Cola has gone up because nobody's buying Coke anymore. Turns out that Coke is in debt by $30,000 and I figure that I could spare $2,000 to help out an American institution. That's when raddidge appears and tells me that was a really nice thing to do.

On the way back home I pass a storefront that is featuring an exhibit on pre-colonial indian culture. raddidge and I attend the exhibit. On display in a wooden case is a pair of ceremonial. One is an eagle's feather and the other is a serpent's feather. The serpent's feather doesn't look much like a feather. More like the dried underbelly of a snake. Some curators are behind the case unpacking another item for display. Wrapped up in hide is a muddy, ancient boombox. A scientist comes along, gives the device a once-over then presses play. A faint woman's voice starts recounting her misadventure into the past.

The story begins with a journey through time that went a bit too far into the past that recall was impossible. Going back in time is like going downhill and the further back one goes the steeper the incline to the future can be for the traveller. Everything's covered in snow, other members of the expedition had perished to the climate or megafauna leaving only her. It was sad to listen to her talk about suicide and how it was the happy way out.

"This tape is unverifiable!" exclaimed the scientist. "If only there were some animal vocalizations then I could verify the authenticity of this tape." Seconds later his eyes opened wide and I looked behind myself. It was as if the building had been cut in two revealing a snowy scene. A window to the past had opened up a few days before the time traveller recorded her final thoughts. raddidge urged me to go through because it was our only chance to make things right.

My first step into the past was the worst one. The snow was at least six feet deep and I quickly sank underneath. While climbing out I saw that raddidge had wandered up to a nearby forested ledge where she was having an involved conversation with the chrononaut. Once I was above the snow I went around looking for ancient megafauna so I could record their voices.

I don't remember much else from the dream but I do hope we were able to return and save the time travelling woman.
