Thanksgiving
With the advent of Thanksgiving, I would like to give thanks for the fact that raddidge still loves me after all this time and despite the fact I'm a deeply flawed human being. Jaybird and maribou are dear friends who I love very much. I am thankful that I finally have the opportunity to run my vampire game. I am thankful that I have made a new friend this year, a.k.a. elmgrows. I am thankful that Spot is in my life. I am thankful that my bike is almost in full working order.

I'm grateful that I still have income and the potential to pay off my car in 2007. Also I'm grateful that I have that second interview on Tuesday. Being grateful and thankful are two different horses of two different colors.
earth abides
Two things have been underscored with my second reading of Earth Abides. First and foremost Ish is an arrogant and self-important asshole who is diminishing everyone based upon their intellect. Knowing the outcome of the novel, I am grateful that he ends up being in the minority and whatever his plans for the re-establishment of the human race gang aft agley.
Next when I read the interstitial chapters, the quick years, it makes me feel a bit tight in the throat.
this is sad
I have no idea what to get my father, mother and sister for Christmas. Plus asking them what they want always ends up being "Oh you don't have to get me anything" or excruciatingly vague.
