Fucking leave me alone. First and foremost there are too many god damned motherfucking people on this planet. I just want my space and the ability to navigate it without having to grind my teeth and furrow my brow because of other people.
Spot is bothering me, mewing and rubbing up against me trying to get my attention and I just got home from work about ten minutes ago (it's 6:03 p.m. on 11/9/06). She has food, she has clean water, she has fresh fucking litter. What more could a cat need besides love and I'll get around to that in good time. Right now I'm fucking cooking for tomorrow's game.
Christ, I wish raddidge was here to at least to run interference with Frau Spots.
howdy
the other gamer
The other gamer has fallen off the face of the earth. When I had lunch on Thursday, the waitresses heard me out about my job woes and then told me that the potential fourth player was flown out because her daughter was hit by a car in Texas or Alaska. Wait and see, I reckon. I'm not going to force the issue and right now balancing the stress of work and the pleasure of the game requires my attention.
Dunno if I'd be ready for a new gamer in the next month or so. Let's see what the new year brings to life.
speak of the devil
The other potential gamer got back to me and says that there's a good chance that she isn't going to be coming back to Colorado due to various circumstances in her life.
rereading
It's been a couple of years since I've read The Sparrow and Earth Abides. Reckon I'm itching to read these books because nostalgia is narcotic, soothing the pains of the present and soothing the anxiety of the future. Ever since November 1
st I haven't been able to pick up where I left off with Nightwatch. Honestly Nightwatch is good but the groove was completely lost after all the work-related drama. As if all of a sudden my brain had been reset. Heck, I needed to
push myself to get back on track with Asbury Park by Night. Fortunately I was able to buckle down and I'm ready to host a rip-roaring adventure on Friday night. Maybe I'll lend it to maribou since I recently re-acquired the books I lent her many months ago.
Other reasons may stem from the fact that I learned that Brad Pitt bought the rights to The Sparrow. Funny thing about it is that the protagonist is a Jesuit who ends up being ritually mutilated and raped by an alien.
Earth Abides because I believe there are too many damned people in this world. There isn't any more real estate being made or discovered and soon humanity will be shoulder to shoulder and at each others throats for the want of some breathing room.
I hate the world I have inherited and I don't know the first damned thing about how to fix it for the better.
chili
The chili ended up tasting good. I'm nervous wondering if Jaybird, maribou and elmgrows will think it's overspiced with too much flavor or they'll think it's too bland or maybe, just maybe, it'll be just right.
