raddidge and I went to see V for Vendetta on Saturday night. First we had dinner at Red Robin and she shared the situation regarding her office politics and how it's a warzone because her employer is a vain fuck who has no social skills.

The movie was a bit awkward. The only time that anyone had any sort of reaction was a gory scene involving V cutting up some paramilitary police. V for Vendetta is a good movie. The freedom and politics soliloquys were a big heavy handed but they weren't shrill or immature like some teenager being a Satanist for a year because their friend once heard their older brother read a book which mentioned all of the crimes of the Catholic church. What made for an awkward movie is the fact that most of this fell on deaf ears. Two reasons, either people don't think things are that bad and it's simply being cautionary or the audience was diametrically opposed to the movie.

It was a nice touch when the fascist government was rounding people up, zipping black bags over their head and forcing them to sit naked in plastic boxes with the bags on their heads. Plus I honestly believe the movie glossed over the whole concentration camp scenario but I can't blame them since "Nevar Forget" has been beaten like a lampshade made out of a dead horse.

Finally the movie was very faithful to the comic with only a few changes. Of course Alan Moore would disagree.
