On Saturday, raddidge and I went downtown to Acacia Park before going to dinner. I wanted to play around Uncle Wilber's fountain but she felt another time would be better. There was this guy in the park who was wearing a cloth skull mask talking to this other guy about his bike. This was very strange and the vibe I got was that skullmask might be a bike theif or at least a fence for stolen bikes. More unusual, it was still very warm around seven o'clock in the evening. When we finally drove over the bridge on Colorado, a bank's thermometer said it was ninety one degrees! We had dinner at the Front Range Grill then rented The Lost Boys from Toons. Afterwards, despite it being very late, I decided to go outside to observe Jupiter.
I was pleased that I could make out Jupiter's bands but I couldn't make out the Great Red Spot. Just like I mentioned last night, I saw three of Jupiter's moons. Around this time I figured I might as well see how my new camera (missing four pixels) would fare put up against the eyepiece. The Jupiter pictures ended up pretty useless but the moon shots are perfect! For those of you playing along at home, the Jupiter pics are not resized and the fourth moon pic is not resized. The crater is one of the more remarkable features observed the other night. raddidge kept going on and on about it and I dutifully kept snapping pictures hoping one of them would be good enough to share at heptapod.org.
On Sunday we started the day at Uncle Wilber's fountain getting soaked then we drove near Manitou Springs for breakfast at Uncle Sam's House of Pancakes. Next stop was the Cheyenne spring and the Manitou arcade. Now we're home and I'm about to start dinner. Unfortunately my can opener is still MIA but maybe I'll find something or work something out so I can cook up a meatloaf.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
