raddidge shows up and she's tired from the heat and waking up unreasonably early on Saturday. I decide to check up on my computer and it turns out that while I was disabling services, I disabled something that prevented me from completely creating a new dialup connection. This happened before back in March of 2005 or 2006. Well, I had to reinstall all over again.

Moving 790 megabytes of mp3s is a pain in the ass. Not to mention saving photos and bringing over my essential programs.

baldur's gate
raddidge and I, having beat Gauntlet: Dark Legacy and run the gamut with Katamari Damacy, have started playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance.

Does everything hvae to be "dark"? Are there not other adjectives that effectively convey evil and menace? Since the word dark is so dumb, it makes me think of stupid goths rather than something menacing lurking in shadows.

raddidge is playing the elven sorceress even though she wanted to play the dwarf. I'm playing the dwarf. We both agree that the archer is kinda lame. Heck, "archer" isn't even a real class in D&D

ulterior motive
I have an ulterior motive for playing Baldur's Gate with raddidge.

See, when Jaybird was bored back in January when his life partner was overseas he decided to get a game. Since MediaPlay was going out of business, he picked up a Vampire: The Masquerade (V:tM henceforward) videogame and really took a shine to it. By spring of 2006, there was a game and everyone was happy playing the game. Jaybird and maribou were excited about gaming as well.

Reckon if I can get raddidge hooked on something like Baldur's Gate and NetHack, eventually she'll want to try out the harder stuff like the PC version of Baldur's Gate, Fallout and other RPGs. With time, she might even show interest in participating with the biweekly Friday game.

You wouldn't know how my heart leapt when she came to my apartment for the first time and started flipping through the V:tM books. She said she was interested in it but as time wore on, she lost interest and decided to file gaming away in the spivak-only folder of her mind.

Time will tell.
