Interesting to note that the most contributed dreams are from Jaybird who does not read my site. He always seems too happy to remind me he can't be bothered with heptapod.org. I need to mention that I am aware maribou has had a dream or two but I have not posted them because they appear on her ~*~*LiveJournal*~*~.

My average remembered dream rate is 14 a month which is one every two days. Prior years had me dreaming once every three days. The average for the whole site is about 9 dreams a month for the past five and a half years.

procrastination takes concentration
Procrastination, a game we all can play.

Jesus, I really need to get to work on inkubo.org. Someday soon, I'll return to the grunt-work of making a manual database for the dreams then fucking around with some Movable Type or WordPress or whatever. Once inkubo.org is working, I'll be able to get rid of that huge purple list. Reckon I'll maintain it offline for my own amusement. Things are going to get difficult when I reach dream #1000.

One of the more important aspects I want to implement for inkubo.org is having the program tell the reader, and myself, the moon phase during that dream. The back of my head says there's a pattern and moon phases have some impact on my dreams.

in more interesting news
On Sunday night Spot was all chatty and raising a fuss up on the ledge. Now and again I'd hear tapping followed by more of Spot's talking. Curiousity got the best of me and I turned on the light. Sitting outside the window was an all-gray cat with a blue collar bearing a bell. It might've been a tag.

Spottles has a new visitor! I am hoping that this kitty was giving Spot vital information on the whereabouts of Samwise the Gross Cat. So far, Gray Cat hasn't come back and the visit may have been a one-time event.

Now I'm not a fan of collaring a cat. One collars a dog because the dog has to keep the license tag somewhere on their dog. Collars are antithetical to cats. Plus the tinkle of tags and bells are not conducive to successful hunts. Since Gray Cat had a collar, I'm sure Gray Cat got out and was having an adventure before his mommy or daddy brought Gray Cat back into the safety of home.

I posted this so late in the week because I wanted raddidge to read my email to her before the rest of you, gentle reader.

sunset
Sunday was a big day and I haven't gotten around to mentioning everything. Right now I reckon I'm writing the last bit of stuff that I remember from the visit to Prospect Lake with raddidge.
We went for a walk around the lake to see if the geese and squirtles were hanging out on the other side. When we had gone three quarters of the way around, we sat down on a bench swing. raddidge mentioned that the sun was very close to setting. I had been unaware and lost in my own thoughts. Suddenly the entire park became much dimmer which caught my attention. We sat for a minute watching the sun go behind one of the mountains. I couldn't believe how quickly it happened! Blink and it's all over before you knew it had started. At first sight, I figured the sun had a whole sun's width before going behind the mountain but apparently there was only a crescent left.
I decided that we'd get up off the swing when the sun's crepuscular rays reached the top of a nearby summit. raddidge says it wasn't a crepuscular or anti-crepuscular ray but she understood what I was driving at.
In Their Dreams
After a considerable absence, I present raddidge.

raddidge says, "I had some bad dreams: all about working in a retail store with my mother (who was a cashier) and I kept getting yelled at by the supervisor. I got up to go to the bathroom (IRL) and tried to put my mind on something else but I ended up dreaming a very similar dream. It wasn't a very relaxing sleep."

In Yer Dreams
Either I was conscripted or imprisoned or my life sucked so much that I had to join a construction crew. I believe I may have been imprisoned because my job required me to break large flat rocks with a sledgehammer just like in old cartoons and Three Stooges shorts.

The project was pacing over the icy road which led to the summit of Pikes Peak. The summit was dark and foreboding, constantly hidden in shadows where the only light was reflected from the snow. Someone had the bright idea that paving over the deep ice on the road would be more feasible than clearing the ice. Most times my jo required me to make sure each piece was broken in just the right way so it could be refitted as a cobblestone in the new road.

I wasn't happy about the situation but I didn't mind my company. Eventually I became the foreman but my job remained the same despite my new responsibilities.
