I am wondering if heptapod.org should get a makeover on its layout. A change in its look. As an inherently inertial being, I'm certain that I'll never get around to it. Even if I do, I won't find a way to do it without completely revamping every single page. Heck, I don't know if I'll even think of a decent layout which will keep the same elements while updating its image.
It's best that I do not keep this as a resolution.
Also something must be done with that huge list of dreams. index.php already weighs in at a hefty 50k. Ever since the inception of this site, I endeavored to create and maintain a site which is ilght in construction.
My resolutions are:
- Less procrastination
- Less masturbation
- More photos for heptapod.org
$5000 by the end of 2005- New job by the end of 2005 without being fired
- Finish my cross-continental journey which was abandoned in 2001
- Be nicer to people
In short: I fail it.
Being positive, I've just maintained the status quo. Things haven't increased.
- Read a greater variety of literature
- James Joyce
- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
- The Brothers Karamazov
- Ernest Hemingway
- The Sun Also Rises
- Mark Twain
- Aldous Huxley
- Brave New World
- Godel, Escher and Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid
- Herodotus
- etcetera
- email suggestions and recommendations, plz
- Redwall books
- Watership Down
- A Culture of Make-Believe
- $9000 by 2007
- Ascend a monk or a chaotic male valkyrie or both
- Visit New Jersey with raddidge
- Increase my proficiency in bicycle repair
- Be nicer to people
- Learn something useful
- Resume my education where I left off
- Create something
Gentle reader,
I'm well aware that most of these resolutions are vague by nature. This is intentional because as of this writing the time is 12:46 a.m. on New Year's Eve in Colorado Springs, CO. Having been awake since 7:15 a.m. on 12/30/05 has compounded the reduction of my intellectual capacity which has been eroded and calcified over the past few years. The only thing on my mind right now is wanting to drive down to the bank and check my balance at the ATM since the bank's website is down for maintenance since 6 p.m. and won't be back up 'til 5 a.m.. I reckon there's mail waiting outside which requires me to check it. Finally I'm figuring that Tuesday the third will be a twelve hour work day for me.
Reckon I'll pursue my foolish errands and finally get some shut eye. Sometime on Saturday I'll complete the first entry of the year in addition to preparing the basic templates for 2006.
heptapod.org and its staff, both of us, sincerely hope that you the gentle reader will continue following these foibles through the new year.
Be safe, we love you.
