There are two stumbling blocks to achieving a singularity. For the uninitiated, a singularity is when advances and innovations happen all at once. The internet has tremendous potential but it's mostly used for pornography and plagiarism. One of the stumbling blocks is that most information is held for ransom. Should anyone attempt to buy it and then liberate it gets smacked with outdated and outmoded copyright laws.

Next people don't have the kind of education that would allow them to fully use what's available on the internet for the betterment of mankind rather than fapping. Mostly this is inertia but this is also due to the fact that school is a training ground for people to learn how to be in an office.
