Since Tuesday I've been having a horrible time with my internet connection. At first I thought there was an issue with a virus but a scan with AVG Free and Spybot had me come up clean. A few days ago I discovered that my computer was infected by nachi.a, a worm that downloads a fix for the Blaster worm but without the user's knowledge. Reckon it's a nice gesture but honestly it'd be better if people did it themselves rather than having control wrested from them.
My logic was thinking, "If nachi.a downloaded a fix for a virus it probably fucked up my connectivity." The last time I was having issues connecting to the internet, it was because Service Pack 4 was not playing nice with Firefox 2.0.
So I went to WalMart, used my $50 gift card from work, picked up a 40 gig external hard drive and took off all my stuff to save (i.e. porn, mp3s), wiped the drive and reinstalled Windows.
While the hard drive was being formatted I decided to head outside and check my mail. After all it had been a week. I found an Amazon box on the front porch.
Reckon I should make a minor retraction regarding comments about my sister. She bought me the rest of the books from Tezuka's Buddha series! Also she got me Sin City which is going to be given to Jaybird and maribou because raddidge's brothers got me the same DVD for Christmas. Hopefully if my father snitches to her, she won't be pissed at me.
raddidge planted a seed in my head. Maybe the bad phone connection was making the connection to the internet spotty at best.
Maybe she's right. Oy vey, after all that bullshit of saving stuff and then wiping and reinstalling windows and the issue was not with my ISP or my computer.
