Remember last week when I posted about stuff breaking? Well on Saturday I took my car over to the garage, they tested it and found the O-ring was folded over. Most likely I screwed up while pumping gas. What the hell? You stick it in, wait five to ten minutes, you pull it out and cap it. Also my steering fluid was really low but they couldn't find any leaks. Only hit me for $85.

Now I'm going to buy that front fork for my bike.

Oh? Didn't I mention that I finally got my headset? A bicycle's headset holds the front fork's tube in place. It's a Cane Creek HD2299. Supposedly I need to find someone with a headset press and who knows how to cut a front fork so it all fits together.

The last bit I need is a new front disc brake caliper. If I remember correctly, it's a 160mm caliper.

Annoying thing is that I just can't buy the caliper. I have to buy the whole set with the disc and whatnot.

Saturday started out as a perfect rainy day. While I was waiting at the garage thunder was rumbling overhead shaking the window and the building. I went to sleep and woke up at noon finding it to be a cookie-cutter Colorado day. Four p.m., two hours or so before heading to the state fair, rain and thunder are making a comeback.

I wish Colorado's weather would decide on whether to be the usual sunny weather or to continue with the Pacific northwest rainy weather. Both are nice but meteorological MPD can be annoying.

Instead of heading over to the state fair due to inclement weather, i.e. thunderbolts and lightning, I decided that I was going to take Jaybird and maribou and raddidge out to dinner at the Empire Asian Buffet. Dinner was wonderful and we caught up on our various stories and adventures since we haven't been together as a group in some time.

Back at the Birdhouse, we played Mario Party 7 on Windmillville. Surprise, surprise! maribou won! raddidge came in second place and I came in last. After the game Jaybird and I recounted yesterday's game and started preaching about the fun of roleplaying games especially Vampire: The Masquerade.

Two hours later, raddidge probably heard more than she ever expected or wanted to hear but it seems we piqued her interest or enflamed a nascent curiousity that has remained quiet for a few years. Back when I first met raddidge she came over and started flipping through the core rules book of Vampire: The Masquerade and said it sounded very interesting to her.

Who knows, she might sit in one night and decide if she wants to join our merry game.

The first game went really well even if the first adventure wasn't complete. The cast of characters includes Jaybird's character Simon Osprey the real estate businessman. TJ is played by maribou, a street artist who is squatting in the sub basement of an abandoned condominium complex. Finally there's elmgrows's character Janni a caitiff thief and security expert.

One of the things I learned is that as game master I usually have to pull more things out of my ass than I would if I was playing but I like that freedom. No, I'm not going to give up playing because game mastering is very intense.

Sadly I can't discuss my game because I don't want to spoil the players or potential players if there's a future run of this campaign. Check out Colorado Springs gaming over at LiveJournal if you're interested in the game. In fact, maribou has already posted her rundown.
