Ever have one of those dreams where you're late for school and the whole world is falling apart at the seams? I reckon these recent dreams about going to New Jersey are just an extension of that theme.

In short: I fucking hate these dreams. Moreso when the dreams involve that walking through molasses effect.

In Yer Dreams
Once again, I dreamt about going back to New Jersey with raddidge. It's Friday the 15th, I'm going off the deep end ranting and raving about how we need to be at the airport two hours early to avoid any fuckups because of the "security" measures and long lines. It's 4:30 p.m. and the flight is less than 30 minutes away and the drive to DIA will take longer than thirty minutes.

Suddenly we're in Missouri. We're tromping through the jungle of the deep south making our way eastward. Reaching a clearing there's a big electrical transformer with barbed wire atop the chain link fence. Jumping up and down on the transformer is a spotcat. She's stuck, her foot or tail is trapped in a crevice and she's trying to get loose. raddidge refuses my offer to boost her over the barbed wire. Seconds later there's a small white dog who is trapped atop the transformer that the spotcat is trying to save. Fortunately the dog gets loose and leaps over the fence followed by the spotcat who share their gratitude and how it's the thought that counts.

Our trek continues. It's Independence Day and my hometown is gearing up for the parade. We're walking against the flow of the parade. raddidge is complaining the entire time that she wants to watch the parade. "We're not going to watch the parade. My house is only a mile or two away! No time to lose!"

The closer we get to my parents's place, the slower I'm walking until it feels like I'm participating in Xeno's paradox. raddidge is unaffected and is walking beside me wondering about my limping and trudging.

Mere minutes from home I realize that raddidge has already been to my house. All this time she had been yanking my chain and let me continue to believe that she never visited raddidge let alone my hometown.
