One of the hobgoblins of my mind on my drive home from work was "Shit, I have nothing to post tonight!" At best there's mild anxiety about the weather and I have completed a week from hell with little or no recognition for my efforts.

"Well," I thought to myself, "I've had issues with my ISP. They've shut down my account for having a virus on my computer." While I was watching wrestling with Jaybird, I had the computer download a service pack. Upon my return home, I ran the appropriate virus fixes and now my computer should be good to go.

It's what happened between leaving for the Birdhouse and coming home that made for an interesting night.

As I pushed my bike out, Olympics Guy caught up with me for the first time in half a year. It was friendly and everything from last April was smoothed out. He told me how the Olympic Committee laid him off back in February, how he's been looking for work ever since (!) and that blonde scrawny chick was someone he hired to clean up around the apartment during his absences and how she abused her access to his apartment. We talked about last weekend with the rowdy kids, he told me how the neighborhood has really gone downhill over the past couple of years with the college doing something with residency for the students. I really didn't catch it since I am a Bear of Very Little Brain.

Well, just as I was starting to think that everything was going to be neighborly once again he told me how he's going to leave in December. He doesn't know where but he'll be leaving for parts unknown. Right now he's getting ready to head down to Texas to help family who live around Galveston. 9:42 MDT on 9/23/05 and I am unaware if Hurricane Rita has made landfall nor am I aware of any fallout, financial or otherwise.

Godspeed, Olympics Guy.

re: last night's entry
I learned some information about the gentleman who was the former owner of that science fiction anthology. My source wanted to remain anonymous and my source made it sound like it's all hush-hush. Honestly, I really would like to post about it here because the gentleman sounds like he's a bit of Colorado Springsiana. One of the unsung citizen heroes of Colorado Springs having lived a life that most couldn't even think of in their dreams.

Fortunately, I know the source does occasionally read heptapod.org and should my source read this I would beg of them to submit an outline or an overview of their knowledge knowing that names will not be named.
