Friday night I decided to see about fixing my comptuer. Back in mid-September my computer ended up getting infected with a trojan program that was making my computer emulate blaster or sasser. It was finally discovered and removed much to my happiness and I decided to get myself a firewall. Zone Alarm always ends up fucking up my computer and I remember hearing about Tiny Firewall. Never, ever use Tiny Firewall because it's a piece of shit program that eats up CPU cycles and memory. Plus Tiny Firewall can not be simply removed, once installed it becomes part of your system which kinda defeats the whole try it before you buy it mentality of shareware.

Once I got it removed, which required tinkering with the registry, my computer started acting funny. Sound would be spotty, sometimes WinAmp would work and sometimes it would give me some error and cause things to slowly crash. Quicktime, which is only installed for Starry Night Backyard, was another issue.

I ran the repair disk and when I rebooted Windows I discovered that my dial-up file was completely gone. I wasn't using a third party dialler, just the one given with Windows. When I attempted to use the Make New Connection under Network and Dial-Up connections I would get as far as naming the fucking item and Windows would always tell me that it was an invalid name.

Now I'm unable to get on the internet. My LiveJournal has pretty much the same information available there.

Friday is the day that I hope to get everything in order and regain access to the internet from my computer.
