So much wasted time.

Anyway, my father's upset at me because I ended a call before it went out of control on my end. I'll cover this when I write about the loss of my bike. My sister's unhappy because she thinks I haven't spoken with her in six months.
raddidge isn't over this weekend because she's up at the comp^H^H^H^H campsite, enjoying the outdoors. Spot and I will visit her on Monday. Saturday's dinner was kielbasa and pierogies and they were very, very good.

kuresu the samurai
A little after noon on Saturday I started a game of Nethack. Dungeon level two had a wand of wishing which got Kuresu's armor class down to -10 in short order with enchanted speed boots, cloak of magic resistance and silver dragon scale mail.
The game is going swimmingly, so much so that my samurai has fallen into moats at least three times blanking out many scrolls much to my consternation. By the time I made it to the castle and acquired another wand of wishing, I completed my ascension kit and struck out for the Valley of the Dead and Gehennom.
Gehennom is frightfully boring with all the mazes punctuated only by horribly dangerous beasts that fall in 2-3 rounds. I've been in a clusterfuck with a green slime, two black dragons, a baluchitherium, vampire lord and a minotaur. So far I've only genocided regular mind flayers and all of L which constitutes liches. The latter happened when I was being harried by a master lich who was enjoying himself by cursing my possessions. Thankfully the scroll was blessed and I had enough ink in the magic marker to write out this terrible scroll.

Onward and downward, I've cleared out all of dungeon level 46 in hopes of finding the way down, I didn't even find the vibrating square. Soon I made my way into the wizard's tower and woke Rodney from his rest. Right now I reckon I've killed him five times. The Book of the Dead has a funny knack on cursing random items which means I dropped the stupid tome on a lower level for when I really need it to enter Moloch's Sanctum.
Kuresu the Samurai now has an armor class of -23, he's wielding a +3 Excalibur and a +1 rustproof katana, 213 hit points and lots of stuff in his bag of holding. Have I mentioned that Kuresu has tasted death twice and can feel its cold sting another time because he's on his last amulet of life saving? I've heard there's another amulet of life saving in Vlad's Tower along with another wand of wishing and the Candelabrum of Invocation.
From there it's straight into Moloch's Sanctum, rescue the Amulet of Yendor and grind my way back upstairs to the first level and head through the elemental planes to the astral plane where I hope to quickly find Amaterasu Omikami's altar where Kuresu can finally achieve the status of demigod.

From the few times I've tried out the elemental planes in wizard mode, the plane of air is impossible, the plane of water is a pain in the ass and the astral plane is a clusterfuck to end all clusterfucks. Keep in mind that the wizard mode attempts had the character decked out in the best stuff a wizard mode wish could wish for a character. Right now Kuresu's equipment is puny in comparison yet there are rumors that people have actually ascended and completed Nethack.

It would be good to ascend in Nethack sometime in 2005 because then I'd have one less New Year's Resolution for 2006.
